Your All-Inclusive
Guide to Citrus

It’s citrus season! Juicy, refreshing fruits like lemons, limes, and oranges are rich in nutrients like vitamin C that can help give your immune system a much-needed boost during the winter months and beyond. Learn about five delicious varieties and how you can enjoy them, then find out how you can use Walmart’s convenient pickup & delivery service to get fresh, affordable options at your store or have them delivered to your door.

Clementine

Small and easy to peel, this cross between a mandarin and sweet oranges is perfect for on-the-go snacking. The super-sweet and refreshing fruit is rich in antioxidants like vitamin C and can help increase your fiber intake. Enjoy on its own or toss the segments into a salad for a tangy twist.

Grapefruit

This popular fruit, packed with vitamins A and C, is known for its bitter-meets-sour flavor. The pith (that white stuff between the outer skin and the delicious fruit) is where much of the bitterness lives — you can choose to peel it off, or not. Try halving a grapefruit, topping it with salt or sugar, and eating with a spoon. Or, add cinnamon and butter and broil for three to five minutes to help soften the bitterness.

Lemon

Struggling to stay hydrated? Adding lemon to your water might encourage you to drink more throughout the day. The super-sour fruit is a good source of vitamin C and can help improve digestion. It’s also useful for cleaning. Sprinkle salt on the cut side of a lemon and rub it on pots and pans to help them shine, or put rinds in the garbage disposal to freshen up the sink.

Navel Orange

The sweet and slightly bitter segments of this seedless fruit, which is a close cousin of the clementine, are delicious when dipped in melted dark chocolate and topped with a bit of sea salt. Navel oranges are great sources of important nutrients like fiber, potassium, and calcium.

Lime

A little bit of this citrus, which is a good source of magnesium and potassium, can add a lot of flavor to chicken and seafood dishes. The tart and acidic fruit is also perfect for making a zesty salad dressing. Try mixing lime juice, honey, garlic, salt and pepper, and olive oil together for a quick and easy vinaigrette.
